Welcome to JAN MARVIN ART STUDIO...The 'Art of Joy'
SEAS THE DAY!!
I enjoy creating art that is whimsical, bright and joyful. I hope that my art brings a smile to your face and brightens your day. I love living near the ocean so I am inspired by the beach, nature and the joy that the Lord brings into my life.
I work with watercolors, acrylics, and glass in mosaic art.
My art is inspired by my faith in God. “You make known to me the path of life; you will fill me with joy in your presence, with eternal pleasures at your right hand. - Psalm 16:11.

My history:
After college, I went into interior design as a career. I achieved professional membership in A.S.I.D. (American Society of Interior Designers). Interior design projects included corporate offices, banks, nursing homes, hospital offices, a dormitory, retail stores and signing. I earned an interior design degree and an architectural technology degree.
After working as an interior designer for some time, I shifted my goals into a different direction and started my own graphic design business. I also worked for an advertising agency and a printing company.
In 1998, our family moved from Chicago to Madison, GA. I continued running my business, Jan Marvin Graphic Design. I also worked at Denon Digital doing color separations for screen printing on CDs for companies such as Disney, Arista Records, Dreamcast Sega and Earthlink. In 2004, I became a copy editor/page designer at The Eatonton Messenger/Lake Oconee News. In 2006, I helped launch a weekly newspaper in Watkinsville, GA, The Oconee Leader. When we moved to Mount Pleasant, SC in 2007, I worked as Art Director at The Daniel Island News. I also was the Creative Director of Edible Atlanta magazine.
A few years ago, I decided to try out a different aspect of creativity, video production, motion graphics and interactive design. I created a video documentary about a TV pilot called Butterflies Wake. I also produced and edited four short films for the Film Meets Fashion event that raised funds for the Make a Wish Foundation. I created short films with interviews at Charleston Fashion Week, The Sales Soiree to benefit PAR and The Family Circle Cup.
I worked at WCBD TV-2 as a Production Tech/Floor Director. I ran the cameras during the newscasts, created promos and worked on video editing and graphic design projects. I also worked at Momentum Marketing Advertising Agency as a Graphic Designer. Presently, I work at The Daniel Island News as Art Director and I own my art business, Jan Marvin Art Studio, the 'Art of Joy'. I won 2021 & 2022 South Carolina Designer of the Year awards (2 years in a row!)
My personal interests include painting, mosaic art, hiking and exploring. I have volunteered in Production as a Technical Director at Seacoast Church and am now volunteering in production at LifeBridge Church.
I love going to the beach, going kayaking, crabbing and enjoying the beautiful Charleston, SC area.
